			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Raw food, when you first hear it, what comes to your mind is mostly fruits and vegetables. But that is not the case. Raw foods can come in forms of fruits and vegetables, meat, fish and cheese. Examples of these are sashimi, raw goat cheese, steak tartar, etc. These foods are already healthy but they will be healthier if they were organically grown.</p>
<p>What is more, they will have the same amount of nutrients they have when they were first harvested. Eating them raw, you would receive one hundred percent of the nutrients it has. When you fry, boil, grill, or cook the food in any way, the nutrients will be degraded and the enzymes that come with the food, which can help our body systems, would be destroyed. <span id="more-754"></span></p>
<p>For raw food diet, you can be assured that you will lose some pounds. Raw foods have reduced calories and carbohydrates compared to commercially processed foods. If you eat fewer calories, the body will have to turn to the fat stores and make up for the lost calories. </p>
<p>Another reason why you can be assured is that some raw foods have a certain enzyme in them called lipase, which is responsible for splitting the fat in your body. The only reason why even if you eat vegetables with your normal diet and not get thin is because you don’t eat enough vegetables that contain lipase to split up the fats in your body.</p>
<p>People of different nationalities have praised the wonders the raw food diet. All of them state that with the raw food diet, they don’t crave for food in-between meals anymore. What they thought once as a strong addiction to food was just a craving for more sugar. </p>
<p>These people are now satisfied with a life of raw food and exercise. Some have claimed that their sicknesses such as asthma and constant migraines have diminished during their period of dieting. And above all that, a person can eat as much as he or she wants as long as it is raw! All that matters is that the person has a healthy digestive system. </p>
<p>On a side note, for eating raw foods, it may take a while to notice the weight loss. That is because you need to give time to your body to cleanse the digestive system and detoxify it. You digestive system will have to rebuild itself from the damages caused by ‘bad foods’.</p>

Although some foods make losing weight difficult, there are foods which we think cause us to gain some pounds instead of shed them. Some may surprise us.</p>
<p>Of course, we can’t deny the power of fruits and vegetables. Eating a meal consisting of fruits and vegetables as the majority enables you to burn 16% more calories. One of the best fruits there are is the grapefruit. <span id="more-747"></span></p>
<p>Since the grapefruit juice diet has gotten the attention of dieters everywhere, numerous researches have been done to verify the effectiveness. In all those researches, the grapefruit juice has passed. </p>
<p>Though none of the researches have able to pin-point the exact reason, there are still added benefits with the grapefruit such as cancer-fighting compounds and half of the fruit only has 39 calories! Other examples are apples, bananas, avocados, pumpkins and all the green vegetables.</p>
<p>Next on the list are almonds. Almonds are a rich source of Vitamin E, magnesium, fiber, phosphorus and protein. Although they are small and are mostly eaten as snacks, they are very filling so you don’t have to wonder what happens if you’re still hungry.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s another type of nut that dieters go for. There are the Brazil Nuts which contain selenium, an element which is required by our body to produce thyroid hormones which keeps our metabolism high. With a high metabolism, fat will burn faster.</p>
<p>Next up, there’s the oatmeal, the common breakfast food. Oatmeal is rich in fiber which, like the Brazil nuts, makes you feel full for long periods of time and still maintain the level of energy you started the day with. Buy the oatmeal that wasn’t added with artificial flavour as they will have higher levels of sugar than unseasoned oatmeal.</p>
<p>Fish has been known to have a fat-burning hormone called Leptin. This hormone regulates energy intake and expenditure which is very helpful in a daily diet. Fish also contain nutrients which are good for both your heart and brain. </p>
<p>Last but not the least, we can&#8217;t forget about red meat. Lean cuts of beef have a lot or iron in them which can actually boost your memory and help you recover from fatigue.</p>
<p>And for something to drink, coffee which has caffeine raises your metabolism which burns about 30-50 calories per day. Drinking a cup can last that boost in your metabolism for four hours. Plus, those who drink coffee are less prone to insulin resistance because of chlorogenic acid found in that cup of coffee.</p>
<p>Although these foods may assist you in your weight loss journey, it is always important to remember that it take hard work to achieve your goal. And if your goal is to lose some weight, just a little exercise would not hurt you. Think of the food as the reward to keep you going strong.</p>

Sometimes the food we take in may have too much calories which isn’t utilized right away by the body. As a result, the extra calories we take in are converted into fats for future use. If we perform less activities, the more likely we gain weight. To lose those unwanted pounds we have to understand how our body works so that we can maximize the food we take in.</p>
<p>Crash diets or starving yourself won’t help. It only slows down your metabolism which eventually slows down your body’s ability to burn calories. The technique is to make sure your metabolism stays normal and won’t slow down, then convert the extra fats into energy source so that you lose some unwanted fats. <span id="more-664"></span>The body burns around 1500 to 2000 calories regularly. That is without any back breaking activities. So if we keep your calories in the 1500 level, our metabolism stays normal and our body will get the extra calories we need for the day from our stored fat. This number should be divided into 5 small meals and snacks a day, where each meal should only be within 300 calories. If you take more in one meal, then make sure the next one will be minimal. </p>
<p>Make sure that you plan ahead of time. The day before, pack the meals that you will eat already. Don’t make your food planning too complicated. Just have a calorie chart with you and determine which ones you will eat at a specific meal or snack time. During your eating time, make it a point to chew your food slowly. Don’t rush yourself when you are eating enjoy each bite you have.</p>
<p>Include in your diet a variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, cereals, beans, non-fat dairy products, meats, fish and poultry. Make sure to remove the skin for poultry. Boil or broil your food. Stay away from fried meals or dishes. Make sure that your snacks are packed with vitamins and minerals and avoid snacks that are high on sugar.</p>
<p>Finally, focus on your weight goal. There are instances where your target weight isn’t reached right away, just don’t forget to do a few rounds on the block to burn some extra calories. Your last meal of the day should be at least 6 hours before you sleep. When you observe this guideline, we are sure that you will lose those unwanted pounds for good.</p>

<p>There are a number of reasons people donâ€™t actually follow through with a resolution to lose weight. First, some people are more caught up with the idea to change next week, next month or next year, but actually havenâ€™t made a serious commitment to change. Others, start off great with some fad diet, and likely lose a few pounds, but the sustainability of the diet may not be realistic. Also, there are people that just donâ€™t understand how much hard work is required to lose weight. <strong>Losing weight is hard, involves commitment, and takes a lot of time and effort</strong>.<span id="more-644"></span></p>
<p>If you are serious to follow through, here are some tips to help ensure that you succeed: </p>
<ul>
<li>Make smaller changes, that you can sustain! Fad dieting will make you lose weigh faster, but the odds are that next year youâ€™ll be making yet another resolution to lose weight because you werenâ€™t able to keep it up. Try eating smaller more frequent meals, finding lower calorie alternatives for foods, and eat out less often.</li>
<li>Get competitive! If you are dieting with someone else itâ€™s easier, you can talk about the difficulties, blow off steam if necessary, and get into the competitive spirit a bit. The only warning is not to get too competitive, this will only make you depressed if the other person happens to lose more weight than you or has a better week. If you donâ€™t know anyone who is as serious about losing weight as you are, you can find a number of websites with forums, blogs, or chat rooms full of people trying to lose weight too.</li>
<li>Keep track! Keeping track of what you eat, any physical exercise, and your progress will help. People who are honest with themselves and keep accurate records tend to do better. You donâ€™t have to show anyone your records, so make sure that you write down EVERYTHING, you may not even realize how much you are eating in a day.</li>
<li>Set a realistic goal! Saying that you want to lose 50 pounds in 2 months is not realistic, nor is it safe. The following steps will help you lose weight in a sustainable manner:</p>
<p>Donâ€™t look at it as a diet, but a lifestyle change. If you are truly serious about losing weight and keeping it off, you need to change the way you live and think about food. Changing the way you eat on a temporary basis usually results in you eventually going right back to your old eating habits and weight. Make smaller changes that are sustainable, you may lose weight slower, but the chances of keeping the weight off are much greater. <span id="more-641"></span></p>
<p>Make time for food and donâ€™t starve! Far too often, people eat nothing all day because they are either too busy or want to avoid the calories. This is not the way to diet! In fact, this is precisely how sumo wrestlers train. Not eating all day, no matter what the reason, makes you feel famished, and as a result, you end up eating everything in sight. Bring snacks or food with you to ensure that you never get to the point of feeling famished. If possible, keep a stash of healthy crackers at your desk or keep a granola bar in your car so that you always have something on hand. </p>
<p>Eat more often and lower portion sizes! Eating smaller meals more often will ensure that you are never hungry, even if you are consuming less calories.</p>
<p>Keep track of your results! Not everyone likes the scale, but it is important to keep track of your progress. If you are seeing results on a regular basis, you become even more motivated. It is important, however, that you are not checking everyday, as your weight may fluctuate. You should get on the scale on a regular basis, probably once every 1-2 weeks. If you really hate the scale, track your progress by finding a tight pair of pants or a dress. Try on your article of clothing every 1-2 weeks to see the progress youâ€™ve made. Even when you have met your weight loss goal, you should continue to track progress to ensure that you stay on target.</p>
<p>Donâ€™t give up! Probably the most important part of long-term weight loss and maintenance is the idea to not give up.
