Children are very picky when they eat. What matters to them is what tastes good and not what is right for them. They have this feeling that if you say food that is right for them, then, it must not taste good. Getting them to eat right may take some time and patience. You might also need to exert a little psychology to teach them the right way to eat nutritious meals.
Sweets and pastries are food that they can easily sink their teeth in. It’s readily available and they can buy it from the small allowances that they are provided. Pressure from their playmates can also convince them to buy sugar-based food that will perk them up during play time. As a result they become restless when you give them more sugar all the time.
